The Purpose of the Bell

Legend has it that an old, gray-bearded biker was traveling back from Mexico under a full moon on a cool desert night. His saddlebags were filled with trinkets for his children and biker friends, and everything seemed perfect. However, he was unaware of the Gremlins lurking along his route. These mischievous creatures set traps and deploy invisible, devilish devices designed to sabotage bikes.

One night, as the biker navigated a sharp turn, a Gremlin frightened a coyote onto the road, causing him to skid and crash. When he awoke in a ditch, he saw the Gremlins approaching, and his saddlebags had been torn open. Desperately, he began throwing items from the bags, but only the bells he had bought for the children frightened the Gremlins away. Astonishingly, the sound of the bells seemed to confuse the Gremlins.

Fortunately, a couple of nearby bikers heard the bells and traced the sound to the stranded rider. Seeing his distress, they shouted to scare off any lurking animals. The old gray-beard, grateful for their help, cut some tassels from his saddlebag and attached a bell to each of their bikes. He explained how the bells would protect them from Gremlins and instructed them to ring the bell if they ever needed assistance.
